I can't find anything current on Google.. I thought that I read a date, then it wasn't approved and then some confusion about it..

no chance of a season. they want to ban chewing tobacco, spitting, more than 2 touching a baseball, want to pay players 33% instead of 50% for a half season, toronto not allowed in and out of the country, 17 pages of other restrictions and decrees that the players will all reject.

Likely far more interesting will be the major discussion in November about whether players eligible for free agency will be impeded due to not having performed their 2020 seasons

not the player's fault. mookie betts for example will be eligible for free agency having not played an inning for the dodgers. on the positive side for them it will be one less year that they have to pay david price. all players lose all their 2020 pay if they do not play.

I wouldn't be so sure. It is quite possible that there is boilerplate language within all MLB contracts that a season must occur for the contractual agreement to be triggered

I am TERRIBLY disappointed if no season. Somehow I thought July 1st was a date mentioned for starting...Crazy some of that. I don't know how to get around the Toronto issue, but I thought all were checked before playing. the 33% seems a little out of whack, but no more than 2 players touching the ball, has to be a joke. Just sad

Lol no more than 2 players touching the ball

so if a batter doesn’t swing at 1st pitch he can’t hit into a double play

heck can the 3rd basemen even throw the ball to 1st since he’s the 3rd to touch ball can’t blatantly throw it to a 4th person that’s crazy

I was thinking the same thing but did not submit a post.

Was thinking "no, I have to be reading this wrong. The MLB boys cannot be THIS stupid. I have to be reading this wrong".

WTF!

How can you can fit 9 players plus coaches in the dugout if you socially distance. I understand they are somehow going to put the non-starters in the stands or is it just the players who aren't going to play that day. I don't know how long a dugout is. We already know the sunflower seeds are dead. I guess they can still chew gum. In any event the players can't sit next to each other so saying something privately to the guy next to you is out. How close can the runner and first baseman stand next to each other. The whole thing is carrying it to the extreme. If the players are tested each day everything should be allowed even spitting out sunflower seeds. You're keeping the players in isolation so what is risk. Not allowing the players to shower after the game at the park. So they have to leave the park drenched in sweat and dirt till they get home or back to a team hotel. This is obviously also going to be the policy at gyms throughout the country. You work up a sweat at the gym and have to drive back home to shower. Nothing I like better than to sit in my car while sweat pours out onto the console and seats. Players aren't allowed to use car services. If I had an Uber or Lyft I wouldn't want them either sweating all over the back seat covered with dirt from the infield. Players are going to hate all the restrictions but they want to get paid so they will go along with every rule in the proposal.

God forbid someone gets picked off/hung up between bases and there's a run-down!
